This section details all the necessary briefing materials for OEJN_FE_APP [APF E] during Hajj OPS: 2026

Designated Area of Responsibility

"Jeddah Final East" (OEJN_FE_APP) is responsible for handling all arrivals from the downwind leg landing on runway 16L/34R.

Notes

  • The separation minima within the Jeddah TMA is 5 nautical miles. If this cannot be achieved, a minimum vertical separation of 1,000 feet must be maintained.

  • On final approach, the lateral separation can be reduced to 3 NM.

  • Wake Turbulence Separation must be enforced under 6,000 feet.
  • After handoff from Jeddah Approach [APP 1], all aircraft should be descended onto odd altitudes. Below are the recommended altitudes:

  • 7,000 ft, 5,000 ft, 4,500 ft (to adhere to MRVA's), 4,000 ft (when intercept heading is given).

  • Controllers should be aware of the MRVA's. These can be found here
  • Independent Parallel Approaches (Mode 1) will be in use for Hajj OPS: 2026.

  • RWY 34R is the high side, with an establishing altitude of 4,000 ft.

  • Aircraft must not be descended below 4,000 ft prior to establishing with the localiser, otherwise this will be deemed a conflict.
  • The standard vector headings are below:

  • Base Leg - 250

  • Intercepting Vector - 310 (340 - 310)
  • When established, aircraft should be kept:

  • "180 knots maintain to 10 DME, 160 knots maintain to 4 DME."

  • "SVA123, contact Jeddah Tower, callsign only, 118.500."

Handoffs from Jeddah Approach [APP 1]

  • The tables below dictate the altitudes and fixes at which arrival traffic will be handed off to from Jedday Approach [APP 1]. These are to be strictly adhered to.
  • A minimum longitudinal spacing of 7 NM shall be targeted by APP 1.
  • The target speed for handoffs from APP 1 is 210 knots, with the maximum being 220 knots. This will be indicated in the tag.
